Time for action! Child care hearings – March 15

Child care legislation will be heard in two committees on Tuesday, March 15!

  • The Capital Support Revolving Loan Fund (SB 0919/HB 0993) will be heard in the Senate Education, Health and Environmental Affairs Committee
  • Early Childhood Development – Child Care Scholarship Program – Alterations (SB 0920/HB 0995) will be heard in the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee

Read the details of the legislation on our blog: https://www.childresource.org/child-care-legislation-on-the-move/ What would it mean to you if these bills were signed into law? What would it mean to other early childhood educators that you know, in centers and family child care homes? What would it mean to the families counting on you?

Are you ready to tell the Senators in their Committees? Let’s do it together!

  1. Written testimony gets submitted using your My GA account (get the scoop on this and some tips on our blog: https://www.childresource.org/engage-with-state-legislators-online-in-2022-create-your-free-online-my-ga-account/
  2. Mark your calendar: the time to submit testimony online for the March 15th hearing starts at 4 PM on March 14th, is open all night, and closes at 10 AM on March 15th.
  3. Mark your calendar twice! It is two hearings in two different committees, so two submissions of testimony if you want to say something about both bills!
  4. Write your testimony! It is your story, along with the action step you want themto take in the General Assembly.
